Reverend Terry McDowell gets bond reduced in sex abuse of child
Clayton, Missouri (KSDK)-- A judge in St. Louis County has reduced the $50,000 bond set for a man charged in the molestation of a child he allegedly abused while he was suppose to be babysitting.
Judge Colleen Dolan reduced the bond to $30,000 and ordered 49 year old Terry McDowell to appear in court December 2nd.
McDowell; a Baptist pastor at the Gateway Southern Baptist Church in south St. Louis city, was also ordered to have no contact with the victim, not to leave the state, and have no contact with any children under the age of 18. The judge made once exception, allowing McDowell to have contact with his own children.
McDowell is charged with one count of child molestation for an incident that allegedly occurred on New Year's Day 2010. Police arrested McDowell after investigating a call to the states child abuse hotline.
Investigators claim McDowell had inappropriate contact with the victim, who the child of a family friend.
